About Us

COMMUNITY MINDED

Celebrate, Recognise, and Educate for Positive Social Impact.

To support and preserve the legacy of the Long Eaton Windrush Generation and their descendants, we aim to be celebratory and inclusive of the wider Long Eaton community, while also remembering our roots.

Our Aims - Preserve Our Heritage

This generation should be remembered for their significant contributions, which continue to enrich the UK's cultural, social, and economic life through their descendants.

Voluntary Group

We cannot do this alone; we are supported by a team of volunteers. It is the passion and dedication of our volunteers that will help us grow our membership, achieve our aspirations, and thrive.

An Association for the Community, Led by the Community

We have a membership model that helps raise funds while reflecting our commitment to support the community. This approach ensures that money is reinvested into the community we serve. Additionally, our members have a voice in our decisions and operations.

Our Community Focus: Education & Elder Care

Supporting Future Leaders

Supporting Older Generation

Supporting Older Generation

The goal is to nurture the skills and ambitions of young people. We aim to support and inspire the next generation of leaders by connecting them to role models, helping them learn new skills, encouraging them to pursue their aspirations and contribute positively to society.

Supporting Older Generation

At the heart of what we do is a deep commitment to supporting the older generation, whether it’s offering companionship over a cup of tea or helping someone rediscover the joy of getting out and about. We believe every person deserves connection, laughter, and the chance to stay active in the ways that matter most to them.

Our 5 Pillars

Support

Supporting the emotional, spiritual, financial, health, and well-being needs by providing assistance when it is needed most. We focus on developing skills for the younger generation and offer support to the older generation. Additionally, we provide financial aid in times of crisis through our Community Benevolent Fund.

Ensure the voice of our community is included and heard. We must understand the community's needs and communicate them to local and national government bodies, promote social justice, and take our responsibility towards the environment seriously.

Engage with local and national organisations to secure funding that supports our goals and charitable aspirations, alongside our own fundraising initiatives, to fulfil the mission of the Long Eaton Settlers Legacy Association.
