When you lose a loved one, we will be there to support. You will also receive a bereavement bouquet, card and check in visits, phone calls and a small financial contribution.
Membership is for the Long Eaton Windrush Generation and their descendants and friends and supporters of the Long Eaton Windrush Generation and their descendants aged 18+ and includes a young person in full or part time education aged 16-18 or Young Adult 19-25 in full or part time education. All of whom lives, works, volunteers, ex-resident or is otherwise connected to the diverse community of Long Eaton. See member levels below.
To help us support our community and our activities there is an annual or monthly membership fee.
The membership fee of £100 per year is payable irrespective of which level of membership suits you. For those on low income and in receipt of benefits (evidence must be provided) and those aged 65+, the annual membership fee is £50 per year. Student Membership 16-18 years old £25, young adult in full or part time education £50 per year (evidence provided). All Memberships are per person
Member with voting rights and receive all benefits. They hold one of the 5 management committee officer roles (officers are voted in role at the AGM every March) with significant responsibility to meet the strategic aims of LESLA. They are held to account to carry out the specific role and it's responsibilities, they take ownership for completing actions allocated to them, use their knowledge, skills, supporting qualifications if held and expertise to perform the role of officer on the Management Committee and, attend meetings to actively drive the LESLA strategic agenda. Essential: Management Committee members must be a Long Eaton Windrush Generation (settled in Long Eaton 1948 to 1971 or a descendant.) Currently 2 roles vacant.
Member with voting rights, receive all benefits and a registered volunteer on our register, helping us with our activities in any way your time and skills allows.
Member with voting rights, receive all benefits and who fully supports and engages with all LESLA is doing .
Member with no voting rights or access to member benefits. This suits individuals who may not live in the area or have a direct affinity but want to show their support by donating to support others and also receive info to public events and early access to the sale of discounted tickets for the annual Celebrate Our Community Gala.
You can donate more than your membership fee too. Every £ we receive will be reinvested back into Long Eaton Settlers Legacy Association to support our community and our members.
