What We Do

Preserve, share, and promote the history, heritage, and cultural contributions of the Windrush generation and their descendants.

This includes creating opportunities for learning, storytelling, reflection, and intergenerational connection, helping ensure that community history is recognised, understood, and passed on.

Promote social inclusion, community pride, and a sense of belonging by bringing people together in welcoming, diverse and accessible ways.

Our work focuses on connection and participation,  and strengthening relationships across generations and backgrounds within the community.

Support young people in building confidence, developing skills, and fostering a sense of belonging in their community. By encouraging participation, providing opportunities to contribute, and connecting them with positive role models and experiences, we help the next generation take an active role in community life.

Provide support to individuals facing hardship or disadvantage due to factors such as age, ill health, disability, financial difficulties, or other circumstances that make daily life more challenging.  Our work includes companionship and connection, community-based wellbeing support, practical initiatives within the community, and referrals to specialised services when additional help is needed.

We strive to ensure that  LESLA Alliance operates responsibly and sustainably, allowing our efforts to continue benefiting the community in the long term. This commitment involves partnering with others, supporting volunteer initiatives, engaging in responsible fundraising, and enhancing the organisation’s ability to provide public benefits.
